Putting the Salt DOwn

Goodbye Summer...

August in Alaska feels like a cool fall night in Florida. Crisp clean air falls upon Alaska as the sun finally takes a rest from the sky. WE are heading into 13 hours of light, for these next two months we will have some kind of 'normal' feel of time, until the winter darkness fully takes over.

We experienced a very wet, cold, Alaskan summer this year. But there were a handful of beautiful days that we were able to get a feel for truly what an Alaskan summer holds, and why so many people live for the summers. We were able to go Salmon fishing down by Seward, take a road trip along the Cook Inlet, BBQ in the midnight sun, hike along glacier filled rivers, dine at some amazing local restaurants, and take a break from the harsh cold.

But as all the kids in the neighborhood head back to school, and the night sky brings colder weather, you can't help but start to miss summer...even an Alaskan one.
